Rodrigo Tuschner reports in from Chile

It's good to breathe again, it's good to feel free again, yes I am in home again, I am in my dear Chile. To watch all these mountains full of snow and the lakes full of water is pure peace and tranquillity. I am so happy to be here, so ready to fire up, so ready to go big and feel the Andes Mountain's power.

This year is special because many of my kayaking friends are coming to go kayaking with me, my good dude LJ Groth is coming to work
with me at the Kayak Pucon Outdoor Center, also Chris Korbulic http://samedeepwater.blogspot.com/ is coming back and one of the Garcia Brother's, Evan (Jr. world champion) http://egcreekin.blogspot.com/ and Tao is ready to, the team look good for this awesome new creek season...

Today I was in one of the more sweet and awesome water falls here in my home town "Pucón" the Tres Saltos" falls and like all the time, it was so soft and so clean, when I was at the bottom, it was like being in the paradise again...

Well, I just want to invite all the kayakers to this awesome creeking town in Chile. "Pucón" is full of water for this year and the party's, wine, thermal waters and mountains are waiting for crazy kayakers...

So see you in town this November and December to Run The Shit together..........

Peace and uncontrol...

Shred Ready Update from Tino

I’ve been in Canada for a few Days now and it is as good as it has ever been. You get to go to some of the best waves in the world and watch people like Andrew Holcombe Rip. Last I saw he was throwing four foot high kick flips off of garb. We had the Garb Rodeo which was really fun except for the fact that Garb was a little low so it was hard to stay on. Despite the levels the top guys were still throwing Airscrews and Pistol Flips. I have begun teaching the video class for New River Academy and it is extremely fun. We have an eight foot long boom cam that we are about to start hanging out over the waves so stay tuned for some unique angles! Anyway, I have to be getting back to the school day but I hope everyone is still getting back on the water considering school and fall has started.

Checking in with Hanna Farrar

Hey guys- Here is a little update from this summer paddling,
I just got back to the states from being up on the Ottawa- I headed up right after I finished finals for the summer term at school. I competed in the 2nd event of the North American Championships- coming in 4th on a super flushy Garb. The event was great- except for the water being a little low for a good wave, everything ran very smoothly and the whole team at Wilderness Tours put on a great show as they always do. The women's results were, first: Emily Jackson; second: Eleanor Perry; third: Ruth Gordon; fourth: Hanna Farrar; fifth: Tanya Shuman. Eleanor took a few photos that I've attached. I also got to meet fellow Team SR member Tino Specht while paddling at Garb and spent some time hanging out with him and the other Huge Experiences teachers. It was great to get some surfing in as well as spend time with all the people who I don't get to see year-round. I always love spending time up on the Ottawa!

Check out the pics.
Cheers,
Hanna

Cheoah Race!

This weekend was a fun one out on the Cheoah River... I made the drive out with my Asheville buds, Daniel Windham and Ashlyn Little, and we got a couple great runs down that beautiful river. It was definitely the most fun I've had in my kayak since getting back to the drought-ridden Southeast.

As 4 PM rolled around, about 20 of us lined up, shortest boat to longest boat, at the Forest Service bridge for a little impromptu head to head race through the falls, and all the way down to the lake.

I was surprised with the showing, and with Shane Benedict and Maria Noakes paddling Pisgah rec boats, Chris Hipgrave in his Wavehopper, the man Adam Zog-dog in his T-Canyon, and numerous other heavy hitters in Dancers, Tornados, and Pirouettes, everyone was super fired up!

I got kind of a mushy start back in the pack a ways, battled with a number of people until the lead in to the falls, and eventually found some open water and was able to wind it out and get into a groove.

Muchos gracias to Ashlyn Little for the pics!! That's whats up.

Myself cruising up to the falls after getting clear of the mess behind me.

Zog-dog doing his thing... probably the most core person I've ever met.

I love this series! 3 boats into the falls at once... Daniel Windham goes for the pass.

And the ensuing mayhem! (L-R Shane Benedict, Chris Hipgrave, Joe Barkley)

Anyways, it was an extremely fun, challenging race on a beautiful river, and I'm definitely in again for next year! Gotta credit my bud Pat Keller here for the use of one of his beautiful Green Boats... that is one incredible design.

The results as I remember them(I have a bad memory):
1) myself
2) Chris Hipgrave
3) Adam Herzog
4) Chan Jones(i think)

Peace.
