TDUB Shaggy Donation

For those not "in the know" the Tdub helmet is actually a Shaggy helmet in which we trim out with 3/4 inch lower for more coverage. This all started about five years ago when Nate Helms wanted more coverage. He came on down the the "Southern Supply Feed & Seed" store, now the home of Shred Ready's international head quarters 3 miles south of Reel Town (pronounced in the local vernacular as REALTON), Alabama. We made a shell and added a piece of masking tape exactly 3/4 wide to the trim line of the shell. And cut it. Presto a full coverage Shaggy now called the Tdub Shaggy.
The TDUB crew then all wanted one, Grace Hillike, Tommy Johns, and Daniel DeLaveregne all got one and they were the only ones who got this Special Blend Shaggy. When Daniel passed I wanted to do something to memorialize him. We could have just written a check, but that seemed a little too convenient to me. We had also talked with Daniel and Grace in the past about doing a limited edition TDUB shaggy.
Then it dawned on me why don't we finally make the Tdub Shaggy, make it limited edition, add in a little extra on the price and donate the difference to the Green River Access fund. The Tdub crew home river was the Green Narrows and what a better way to cement Daniel's love of that river and benefit the whole paddling community. I passed it by Grace and the others and they thought it was a great idea.
So we planned on a limited production of midnight blue Tdub Shaggies in 2006. We sold out before we even got to production!
About a year has passed since we introduced it and last week I had the privlage of taking a check for 1500.00 dollars to the Green Race and handing it over to Jason Hale and Woody Calloway, the officials in charge of renting the access point for the Green Narrows. The access rents for 6,000 per year.
I just want to personally thank all you Tdub owners out there. You have a great helmet and you have helped secure access to the Green for the 2008.
Since the Tdub was so successful we have decided to put into full production. As well, we have decided we will continue our support of the Green River Access fund through sales of the Tdub Shaggy helmet. So if you did not like the midnight blue Tdub LE from last year, you can now purchase it in any of the cool new colors for 2008, including Urban Camo, and Desert Camo and continue your support of the Green River.
