Interview with new Team member Rodrigo Tuschner

Since I have been here in Pucon, Chile interviewing Tom Sherburne from Shred Ready, Tom thought I should interview Rodrigo Tuschner and Ema Passi, partners in life and Kayak Pucon. Rodrriggo is the newest member of Team Shred Ready. Since I have nothing but drinking beer and running waterfalls I thought I would practice my Spanish and let Rodrigo and Ema practice their English.

RF: Hola Rodrigo y Ema como estan?

RT: Good Dude, all good

EP: Muy Bein, gracias.

RF: Bacan, hablan me a cerca de negocio Kayak Pucon, como comenzaron?

RT: We start, because I was safety kayaker in biggest rafting company here in Pucon, and a lot of people ask for kayak lessons. I met Ema in Italy, and we wanted to open kayak business in Pucon, so here we are.

RF: Simpactico, Ema, has movido todos a Chile con Rodrigo? El es muy bacan y actractivo hombre?

EP: Yes, I changed my life just for him, then we think to start a business, Kayak Pucon. We compliment each other perfectly.

RF: Bueno, a perfecta mezcla en Paraiso! Ok, Vivemos en Chile todos el tiempo?

RT: No, we live here only from November to May when the whitewater is really good. The rest of the time we live in Italy. I am a raft guide there, while not kayaking. Ema is a manager of a wonderful bar, Auro Bar in Bal de Sola (Valley of the Sun, Italy).

RF: Suena muy bein! Esta Professional Kayakista?

RT: No I am just a kayaker, I love to kayaking all the time. No need for camera, just some water and good friends! I don’t care if it rainy, and there are no cameras. Like yesterday when we do first D on Nilahue, I don’t wait for good light, I just go.

RF: Bacan dude, has corrido priemer D de saltos Nilahue ayer?

RT: Yes, another one in Pucon yesterday. We did the rock paper sissors for the first D of the waterfall. Chris Korbulic won and got the first descent. I got the second place and Ian Garcia of Team D got third.

RF: Bacan dude, Ema, que piensas que Rodrigo corra saltos grande?

Ema: I like it very much.

RF: Por que?

EP: For me it is so exciting, satisfaction, because he loves to run big waterfalls. Every waterfall is progress for Rodirgo’s objectives, to be best kayaker he can be.

RF: Pucon es muy bueno, muchos rios cerca de la ciudad. Vivimos en un paraiso para los kayakistas!

RT: ahhhh dude your Spanish sucks, but you are right, Pucon is perfect. Pucon, it is all right here in the middle of all the shit. You wake up in the morning you have like 20 options for class III-VI within 40 minutes. Like Daniel D says there is class III to V and then there is first class; the middle Palguinl and the Plata river.

RF: Otro primero D isiste?

RT: Yes, this year was the shit. I have the opportunity to open four different rivers around Pucon and two new big waterfalls; 24 and 22 meters. We did the Caren and Pihue , Lahueco, Huililil river and the new waterfals on the middle Palguin, the one we did yesterday.

RF: Bacan dude, correr la mierda! Vas a tener un articulo en Kayak Session?

RT: Yes, in the local spot it is about me and kayak career and about how cool Pucon is for kayaking.

RF: He Disfrutados “Equipo de Shred Ready” por que?

RT: Dude, I want to have the new full face to continue to run the shit. I feel really good, because when I see the Shred Ready team and web site, I see Pat Keller and John Grace and now I feel so proud , happy to be on the same team. They love whitewater and don’t give a shit. They just run the creeks because they love it!

RF: Simpatico, estamos super excitado que estes en el equipo. Muchas gracias por la entrevista.

EP & RT: Thanks, no problem, have a great time in Chile. We will send you some pics from some more shit.

RF: Thanks Rodrigo and Ema, I will tell Tom and I am sure he will put them up on his site. Nos. vemos!
